Viktor Objekts & Koffie

every now and then my dear friend Super Steph and I get a sudden urge to change the world at least a little bit. and exactly at those moments we meet to have something other people call a brainstorm but in Steph and Manon Land it is more a brain tornado.

this happy event preferably takes place at a location that is for us yet to discover and conquer. crime scene that day: Viktor, espressobar anex concept gallery in Antwerp. it was quiet. very quiet. before we arrived that is. but still, only one other person came in. word is that it can get super crowded during the weekends though. there is a gallery space downstairs and an artisan shop in the back. definitely worth a visit!

Done Tagging

Sooooo, what do you do when you get permission to tag? You tag the hell out of it! The old fashioned way. With a spray can :)) Last weekend we attacked the city of Hasselt with a stencil and paint to mark the hotspots for Beyonderground. Hasselt will be turned into Beyonderground Graphic City for a full month (04/04-05/05). It was also very interesting to meet a lot of nice police officers during the process ;-/

... you take all the liquid stuff that is in your fridge and mix it carefully together? I can tell you what happens: magic! Moving bubbles start to form and slowly explode into puffy liquid clouds, thus creating a work of art... This is what happened:

One of the things I have been doing lately was make a portrait of my friend graphic designer
Geoffrey Brusatto (his site is currently under construction - but make sure to check later!) for the Beyonderground bookazine.

The starting point was simple: it had to be creative, stylish, represent his work and not too much his ego. I am quite thrilled about the outcome :)

The Impossible Flash Back

i bought the camera. i bought the Impossible flash. i started a project. 

and like these things usually go: the project exploded into more projects. one of them is to portrait people who are light bringers into my life. another one is to test how far i can take things with the SX-70 and my flashy new flash bar. and more. a lot more. you'll see :)

I've got balls

i do not wear much jewelry but if you happen to see me without any of these it means i was very very distracted and forgot them at home... they are my absolute favourite and everybody is always asking me where i got them. i figured it is time now to give credit where credit is due: my very talented friends Joele & Dimi, aka Les Deux, design and make them. i started with just 2 and ended up with quite a collection over the years which leaves me the option to make endless variations 'sur le même thème'. and yes, 'the balls' are for sale in various stores in Belgium (amongst others: Zabiluz/Antwerp, Mozaiek/Louvain, Apuura/Ghent) -  or here.
